Service Games Timeline: Road to Japan 2024
What is Service Games?
The Service Games follow the Daikin culture of providing the best quality of service to customers. The basic values of PROMPTNESS, RELIABILITY and KINDNESS are the success formula of Daikin to satisfying our customers worldwide.
By holding a competition among Service Technicians and Engineers in terms of skill and knowledge, it helps them develop faster through the spirit of competition and allows them to achieve excellence by measuring themselves against the benchmark of other competitors both locally and globally.
Service Games - Applied
The EMEA Applied Service Games are an international competition where service technicians and engineers compete in theory and practice with colleagues from other countries working in the same field.
To continue this tradition, Daikin Middle East & Africa will host the very first EMEA Applied Service Games on the 14th – 15th of February 2024.
The games will consist of an online pre-selection test in English language and the participant will have to answer 60 questions in 60 minutes related to technical questions, work quality, safety, environmental impact and customer service. The online pre-selection Test is scheduled on the 05th of January 2024.
From this selection, the participants with the 3 best results of each EMEA Affiliate will be invited to the finals of the EMEA Applied Service Games at the DAME HQ in Dubai, UAE.
Service Games - DX
The Daikin Service Games are an international competition where service technicians and engineers compete in theory and practice with colleagues from other countries working in the same field.
To continue this tradition, Daikin Middle East & Africa will host the DAME Service Games - DX on the 15th – 16th of August 2023.
The games will consist of an online pre-selection test in English language and the participant will have to answer 60 questions in 60 minutes related to technical questions, work quality, safety, environmental impact and customer service. The online pre-selection Test is scheduled on the 05th of July 2023.
From this selection, the participants with the 3 best results of each DAME Affiliate will be invited to the finals of the DAME Service Games - DX at the DAME HQ in Dubai, UAE.

Pre-Selection of Competitors
For DAME Service Games - DX/VRV, Proper brazing practice (Horizontal and Vertical methods) in addition to the online exam, should be completed by all technicians and be judged by the local affiliates by referring to the Brazing Skill Training Guidelines found on the study resources.

DAME / EMEA Service Games - Applied and DX
Theoretical Test
Participants have to answer questions focusing on various topics such as: Fundamentals of refrigeration, fundamentals of electricity, safety, customer interaction, basic product specific questions.
Trouble Shooting
Participant is assigned to their own pump station where they will find a pump installed with a water flow circuit and power supply arrangement to commission the unit, each unit will have a specification sheet and required tools.
Overhaul Centrifugal
Each participant will be assigned a module with the Centrifugal Pump, connected to pipe network, water source and provided with the required tools. Participants will need to perform maintenance or overhaul in accordance with a work instruction.

If you arrive earlier than Tuesday, the 13th of Feb or depart later than Friday 16th of Feb, we will be happy to support you with hotel booking and transfers. We will contact you via email.
Dress code
Smart casual on the 14th of February.
On the 15th of February - the competition day – please wear your own service uniform and safety shoes (PPE will be provided), please dress accordingly.
Entry requirements
UAE Residence Holder do not need a visa for entering UAE. Only a passport valid for the entire stay (incl. departure day) is necessary. However, it is recommended, that the passport is still valid for 6 months after departure from UAE.
Holders of Japanese and European passports do not need an entry visa for UAE. They are welcome to enter and stay (as visitors, tourists or business travelers) for a period of up to 6 months as of the date of entry. The passport must be valid at least 3 more months after the end of the intended travel and it must have been issued within 10 years.
Weather
The average temperatures in Dubai are between 68°F and 77°F. You can expect a few rainy days in Dubai during February, but usually the weather is comfortable in February. Please check the weather forecast before the trip and choose your attire accordingly.
Currency
AED also known as the United Arab Emirates dirham or simply as the Emirati dirham, it is the currency of the United Arab Emirates. The dirham is subdivided into 100 fils. It is officially abbreviated as AED.

Voltage
Power sockets in Dubai are TYPE G. That is, the rectangular, 3-pin socket like you would find in the UK. Dubai and all of the United Arab Emirates operate between a 220V-240V supply voltage and 50Hz.

Travel Insurance
To be insured in the event of an accident or health issues, we recommend arranging travel insurance.
Medical care
No vaccinations are required for Dubai, UAE. Basic medical care for all travelers (Diphtheria/Tetanus/Polio, Hepatitis A and B, Typhus) is always recommended. Please visit your doctor timely before departure to get the latest recommendations regarding preventive vaccinations! It is recommended to bring a little pharmaceutical travel kit for the most common travel disease.
